About

For over 25 years, W.E. Care for Kids has been a leader in paediatric fundraising in Windsor-Essex County.

W.E. Care for Kids Foundation started as a one time fundraising effort in 1997, spearheaded by the late Dr. Joe Galiwango, Bill Micelli and Alan Dafoe. Originally envisioned as a one time initiative to secure essential equipment for the paediatric unit, the team soon discovered the urgent need for equipment and resources in Windsor-Essex. Recognizing this critical gap, they decided to extend their campaign. After eight years of dedicated fundraising, W.E. Care for Kids acheived charitable registration status in 2005 from the CRA.

Today, W.E. Care for Kids fundraises year-round to support a variety of paediatric healthcare initiatives. We continue to purchase paediatric equipment for local hospitals and have expanded our support to programs like the Windsor Essex Therapeutic Riding Association, Ronald McDonald House of Windsor, and John McGiveney’s Children’s Centre. W.E. Care for Kids offers support to Windsor Essex youth beyond the hospital.
