COVID-19 UPDATE – W.E. Care For Kids

We are living in unprecedented times: We are not seeing out extended families, friends and collogues like we are used to. We have had to pivot in many ways and moved to a more virtual form of connection with our loved ones. W.E. Care for Kids understands the pressures you are facing, the stress and uncertainty is something that we can all identify with during the COVID-19 pandemic. While we are doing what we can to continue with business as usual, and our Board and staff have taken measures to help cope with our new reality. This is what we are taking to comply with social distancing & do our part to flatten the curve:

Our Board is still meeting regularly, however, we have now switched to a virtual format to ensure the safety of our Board and staff, alike.
We have cancelled or postponed all fundraising events for the months of April & May. We are keeping a close eye on the situation and the provinces recommendations for the remainder of our summer events and will update as soon as possible.
Our office is currently closed but we are still working from home.
We have focused on being even more fiscally responsible during these difficult times and continue to strive to adhere to our 80/20 rule.

While the COVID-19 crisis has changed how we do a number of things, there is one thing that will always remain consistent. We remain committed to doing our part to enhance and support our paediatric healthcare programs. One thing is certain, the need for new equipment has never been greater. With the majority of our healthcare dollars being directed to the COVID-19 fight, this leaves little funds available to purchase the vital and life-saving equipment that our hospitals require to keep our children safe. W.E. Care for Kids remains committed to making sure that the children in our community have access to best possible health care – right here, at home! If you are able to support donations in any denomination would be greatly appreciated, a little can do a long way in saving a child’s life!

How Can You Help?

During these unprecedented times, W.E. Care for Kids has found itself in the same position as many other charitable organizations around the globe – canceling fundraising events and initiatives. While these decisions were difficult to make for our Board. While events are canceled our fundraising efforts are not – during this pandemic the need for healthcare fundraising has grown significantly and our pediatric services are in more need than ever!
